At the Architectural Project Management Division, our Green Team goal is to promote and implement sustainability rating systems that compliment green building efforts, expand sustainable networks, and improve green infrastructure in accordance with the goals of the City of Austin. By designing and planning for the future, we are able to improve the environment of our home here in Austin, Texas. Each project links to the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan by reducing energy, water, waste, traffic emissions, as well as improving indoor air quality.
The Green Team: our mission & Who We Are
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) is a third-party green building certification program and the globally recognized standard for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings and neighborhoods. The rating system approach focuses on efficiency and leadership to deliver the triple bottom line returns of "people, planet and profit."
The Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES) Rating System offers a systematic approach to define, develop, enhance and restore landscapes with the goal of improving ecosystem services, community benefits and economic performance.
WELL is a performance-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and well-being, through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind.
Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) cultivates innovation in building for the enrichment of the community’s environmental, economic, and human well-being. In 1991, AEGB developed the first rating system in the U.S. for evaluating the sustainability of buildings, inspiring many cities to follow.
